I hope this works. Yesterday as we were sitting around the house Wesley got VERY tickled at every little thing Jackson did. Derek wasn't able to get the camera out in time so this is a recreation...that is until Jackson decides to come back into the picture! :)

Thanks Valerie!!

The following several posts (I had to do it this way with the way I was posting, sorry) are the product of an unexpected (on both sides) but much enjoyed visit with our friend Valerie. She was in town visiting with another friend of hers and had no idea that Derek and I were living here now. (She's been out of the loop with her world travelling self! :)) So when I found out she was here I rushed out to see her (since it was truthfully right next to where I was going anyhow!). She then came over yesterday to meet Wesley and have an impromtu photo shoot. I'd say it was a success all around! I got to catch up with a friend, see a familiar face from home, and got some photos of my beautiful boy that make me cry!!!! Yesterday was a good day indeed! :) Enjoy the photos! I know I do!

Camping

Here are some pictures from our first camping trip. It was a wonderful time and we can't wait to go again! Maybe next time I'll take more pictures! :)

A Frame Goebel

Derek has given our little one the nickname "A Frame". Yes, it is admittedly lame, but seriously, look at this kid!

He's such a silly one. I think he'll be tumbling before he's crawling!

Not Me Monday

Okay, I'm jumping on the MckMama bandwagon this week because oh have I got some "Not Me's" for you! And yes, they are all about our trip!

First of all, I did NOT go on my first camping trip (that I remember) at the age of 25 years old! I mean certainly, as much as I love to be outside, I camped every weekend growing up, right?

On said camping excursion, Derek and I did not walk 2 miles to get to a playground only to get 1.5 miles in a find a post that said "Powhatan Trail, .5 miles to camp site 1-67" knowing we were staying at site 37. We would have NEVER walked so far without knowing how to read their maps!! (also only to find out there are NO swings at said playground for Wesley to play in!!

And on this 2.5 mile hike into the woods, I would NEVER wear completely inappropriate socks! I KNOW that if you're going for a long walk like that you should wear the right socks because if not you MAY end up with blisters on maybe your heal and quite possibly a toe. But that's not speaking from experience, I would NEVER wear the wrong socks because certainly if I did I would walk around the rest of the day with one shoe on and one off because it hurt too much to wear the other!

And on our first night, knowing that we are expert campers and we know better, we would have NEVER left out our dogs food for some wild animal to come and enjoy while we were fast asleep listening to him munch!

No, I'd never do any of these things because I am an EXPERT camper and know so much better than to make all of these rookie mistakes!! :)
