Here we go again!

I started physical therapy again yesterday for my leg. Its getting a little frustrating, but in one day, I understand more of what is going on than I have since I first fell in November! After about 20 to 30 minutes of checking out what was going on with my knee, I found out that I have a small meniscal tear that wasn't picked up on the MRI. The good news is that something like that doesn't need surgery, the bad news....lots of discomfort and soreness are in my future!

I'm excited about my new physical therapist also. Not only does she seem to be incredibly knowledgable, she's a christian who's husband just got transferred down here. He is an officer on the Georgia, which is a sub that just recently got moved back down here. While he is out to sea she's looking for a church to go to, and I took the opportunity to invite her to my small group. It's been such a HUGE help to me in my new life and I hope that maybe we can be a help to Bre in the days to come!

Oh yeah, and since I don't think I've mentioned it, we're going to a ball next weekend! Thanks to my friend Jill who GAVE me an amazing dress I don't have to fork out a ton of money! I'm so excited about getting all dolled up and going out for an incredible night! I promise to post pictures eventually! :)

Everyone else is doing it!

It seems like almost everyone I know has a blogspot. Some for keeping friends in touch. Some for posting pictures and videos of their adorable children. Some just for journaling purposes. But all, for my viewing pleasure! Haha. So, here I am, blogging again.

Today, just in case I don't blog tomorrow, is one day before my eight month anniversary! No, we don't celebrate monthly! Don't worry! Its hard to believe that its been eight months already! All Derek and I have heard is how hard the first year or marriage is, and now that we're on the second half of our first year, I can now share my opinion.

To understand parts of my opinion you should also see a letter that my sister blogged for me just before I got married. Rita has very strong, but very good opinions in most situations, and though I haven't always appreciated them, I'm growing more and more to look up to her. The part that I want you to really see in that letter is this:

Communicate, communicate, communicate. They say the first year is hardest. Near the end of the first year, you begin to hear that the second is hardest. And, as I enter my fourth, The Experts are promising that the hard years stop coming after five … or maybe seven.Honestly, we haven’t had “a hard year”. We have difficult weeks, bad days, tough spells. But we talk it out, work it out together, and are better for the communication it takes to work those issues out. And, to be truthful, if “the hard years stop coming” means that you learn to tolerate one another while you each do your own thing and merely coexist, personally I’d rather have bad times.

Now, my opinion. Much like Rita and Kyle, this hasn't been a hard YEAR for Derek and I. We've had our fights, our misunderstandings, and our disagreements, but they pass quickly. Sometimes it bugs me how quickly they pass because being the female that I am, I want to stay mad for a while. If you haven't met Derek you may not understand, but if you have, then you know how impossible it is to stay mad at him! Disagreements included, the past 8 months have been the most amazing months of my life!

Just after Derek and I were engaged, I remember talking to my best friend Rachel and telling her that there is no one else in this world that I trusted enough to allow him to take me away from living close to my family, only Derek. On August 4th, 2007 my life changed, completely. I was no longer a single woman living in South Carolina, only taking care of myself. I was a wife of a Submarine officer, living in Georgia, 3 hours away from everything familiar. And sitting here, 8 months later, I can honestly tell you, I'm right where God want me to be, without a doubt! I miss my family on a daily basis, but I feel closer to some of them than ever!

I am completely amazed knowing where I've come from and where I am. It makes me excited for the future and where I'm going! Life is exciting! And now you get to read about it!! How excited does that make you?!
