Visitors from afar

Tonight at dinner my husband had a fortune cookie and it read something like this: "An unexpected visitor will bring you a blessing" but whats crazy about the fortune is, this time, it was true!

Yesterday after church Derek and I were wasting time in Brunswick waiting for the evening service when I received a call from my Aunt Barbara. She tried to be sneaky and figure out where we were, but since we were 45 minutes away she had to fess up and let me know that they were in Saint Marys for a surprise visit! I can honestly say that I haven't been THAT excited in a long time! It was a short visit, but so refreshing! Derek and I had just been talking the night before about how much I was missing family in general, so it was a complete God visit! They brought their camper and stayed a Crooked Creek State Park which is GORGEOUS! Last night Derek and I spent several hours out their with them grilling steaks and looking at pictures. It really may not seem like much in just reading this, but it was quite possibly the most amazing surprise I've ever had.

If there was one thing I hope was acheived in the short visit though, I hope that Derek and I were able to encourage them. They have been through so much in the past and just get so discouraged, so I hope that the trip was as refreshing and encouraging as it was for us!

I love family and surprises, so this makes the past weekend the best I've had in a while! :)
