I just thought I would share these pictures that I finally got a hold of with whomever may be reading this blog.
Periodically throughout the year Derek lives on a submarine. There is no way of calling him, no way or hearing his voice for months at a time. Our only contact is email, and that's sporatic at best. All that is said so that you can understand the pure excitement and joy when I see this:

Now these are not zoomed in at all. My friends and I were standing on the beach at Ft. Clinch where the sub passes through. All I could think that day was "My husband is in there! I wonder what he's doing right now?!" Once he made it home and I asked, all he was doing was packing. Man, you think of you husband as a superhero saving the world, and all he's doing is packing, ready to get home to me!
Normally there are men in green vests on top of the boat from what I hear, but if you notice, the water was really choppy that day. It was windy beyond all and if anyone was standing on top because if they were, they wouldn't have been for long! :)
