Chandler Maxwell Zimmerman

Everyone meet Chandler!
This is mine and Derek's first nephew, blood related anyhow, given to us by Derek's beautiful sister Kelly! Chandler is also Derek's Godson. I can't describe to you the pride that I know he feels. There really is no higher compliment in our eyes! :)
This is my favorite picture. Do you see the adoration in his eyes for the person feeding him!? I don't know that it has anything to do with ME, I think it's just that he was so hungry.

After lunch came playtime. I don't know that I've ever seen a child so young play so long after having just ate! But he just loved looking at the little giraffe. What a cute boy!

Time for a change! He does like to spit up a little...but oh well, I still love him!

I adore this picture! He can't even stand to hear himself cry so he covers his ears!!

I'm not sure that words can say how much I already love this little man! I'm so excited to be able to be a part of his life from the beginning. To be Aunt Mendy to someone is amazing. I know my aunts and how much they've always meant to me, and I hope that one day I'll mean that much to little Chandler. He's such a precious gift and I can't wait to experience his life as he grows everyday!!

I did have an amazing trip to Kenner to visit with Derek's side of our family. I promise to post on that later. And maybe I'll start taking belly pictures soon. I feel like I have a little rise in my tummy that's probably just from getting fat, but my girlfriends have given me the "talk". Apparently when you're pregnant, that's the excuse for everything...so no, I'm not getting fat...I have a baby belly! lol Anyhow, I promise to post again soon!

Let's give 'em something to blog about!

Due to recent events (that's I'm sure most of you survived along with me!) I have something to blog about!

In the past tropical storms have been fun for me! I remember years ago playing in huge yellow rain coats with my sister in law, Cindy, in all the wind and rain. We even got out floats to try and float down our barely flooded streets! What fun times! So yesterday I was in the same mindset, no big deal, its just a little storm, nothing to worry about....and then my mom left! Now I'm glad she went home, she needed to be there, but I never knew how scary those things could be when it's dark and your husband isn't around! Anyhow, not much damage was done....except for my beautiful Bradford Pear...she is no more...

Unbelievable how I loved that that tree made my house look cute, homey, welcoming....now when Derek gets home he won't know what to think! I'm pretty sad about the loss...but I'll get over it!
