My friend Allie just posted this on her blog and I decided that it was a GREAT idea, so I decided to make one of my own. I'd love to look back at this on my birthday and see every one of these crossed off. I've made sure that none of these are impossible, but that they'll take work. Some of them won't take much work, but I've got to see some progress to keep me going! :) But really, it would be silly for me to plan a list like this that could be accomplished by next week. Its funny, I think you learn a lot about people's character and the things that are really important to them when you see what their goals are. I hope that you're not disappointed in who I am when you see the things that I'd like to accomplish by June 2, 2011
27 things to do/be doing before I turn 27:
1 lose at least 30 lbs
2 Run a 5k and 8k
3 enjoy date night with my husband at least once a month
4 have a consistent quiet time
5 make a new close friend
6 find new depth in a current friendship
7 rekindle an old friendship
8 give away all of my unnecessary things (clothes, furniture, etc.) to someone who needs it
9 take Wesley camping again
10 change a child's life (one that isn't my own)
11 join some kind of singing ensemble
12 cook breakfast one day a week
13 stop drinking diet coke
14 drink more water
15 have Wesley well on his way to being potty trained (if not already there) *I WILL NOT stress about this*
16 Lead someone to Christ
17 be a mentor
18 go on a girls weekend trip
19 consistently cook dinner at least 4 nights a week
20 try a new recipe at least once a month
21 Meet Cassie and Sam Sartin in for real life! :)
22 Put a family photo in my big empty frame on my wall
23 update all of the photos in the other frames
24 Bake an apple pie
25 make my house look like a home
26 play volleyball if only once
27 start a new family tradition (this one, as well as a few others are in the works, but not yet accomplished, so they still count)

A long overdue update
I don't update this thing nearly enough, but since my mother and father in law (Hi you 2!) no longer have their facebook accounts I figured I should probably update more often, especially with pictures! I know you guys only check up on me for those anyhow! :)
So, update number one is for me mainly. I'm really excited about the things that are going on in mine and Derek's lives! We've both recently registered for our very first 5k! I'm not a runner and have never claimed to be, but my trainer April and I have started my training to get me ready to go on December 4th. So far it's slow going since my shins are not responding so well. But I've learned that Advil and ice are the way to get them back up to par. So tomorrow I go in 45 minutes before my official training session begins to get my running out of the way. Its getting a little better each day. Hopefully I'll be ready by December. If not the goal is to run the Shamrock 8k in March.
Alright, now for the update that I know you really want to hear about. Wesley is doing amazingly well! He's such a great kid! He'll be 19 months in 2 days and I just can't believe it!

We went to a festival over the weekend and to dinner with Adam and Jessica Palmer and Wesley had so much fun:
That is until he fell and got one of these:
But gosh, even despite that fat lip (that's still pretty swollen even today!) he did great. We went to the Palmer's for dinner and he played with Addison and her friends well. They colored with him and he danced with them, it was love I tell you! :)
Alright, that's it for this update but I have many many more photos to post and I'll try to get to that tomorrow. And at some point I'll have a link for everyone to see all of our family photos we took over the weekend. I haven't gotten them yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do! Hopefully soon!
Also I want to let you know about the new traditions we're starting as a family for Christmas this year. It's going to be fun! And hopefully as kiddos get older it will really sink in with them! We'll see!
